Word of the Day: Osculate

Lipstick

Lipstick

Today’s word of the day turned out to be OSCULATE(i). The fifth meaning of osculate, a verb, is “to kiss.” It just doesn’t seem right to substitute osculate for kiss? Can anyone find a way?
